The Resistance Fighters

Alice Guillot Michel, a graduate of the École supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris, is a contemporary painter. To mark the 80th anniversary of the Liberation, she pays tribute to the women in the shadows, both known and unknown, who gave their lives with extraordinary courage to fight against tyranny, by creating their portraits based on period documents. She chose to depict them as they were at the time they took part in the struggle. Claire Michael created the musical composition based on texts revisited from these women's testimonies.
