With this new album “Tiger Note”, the multi-saxophonist, flautist and vocalist Claire Michael continues to forge her own path, in complete freedom, always inhabited by the music of her mentor John Coltrane. She once again offers a very personal universe that is articulated between original creations and freely revisited standards including My Favorite Things and Countdown.
She once again surrounded herself with her faithful accomplices,
Jean-Michel Vallet on piano and keyboards, Patrick Chartol on bass and double bass, Zaza Desiderio on drums and Hermon Mehari on trumpet.
This Franco-Brazilian-American group offers refined and unique music, mixing groove, creativity, technical virtuosity and improvisation, all carried by a communicative joy of playing together.

Claire Michael is a multi-instrumentalist composer, discovered by Didier Lockwood. Her career is marked by a dozen albums and countless tours in Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, and Asia. She regularly performs in prestigious jazz clubs and festivals in France and internationally (Sunset, New Morning, Marciac, Langourla, Cannes, Reunion Island, Czech Republic, national tour in Brazil (Revelation of the Year)...). She develops an original and powerful style, rooted in the influence of her mentors: John Coltrane, Wayne Shorter, and Pharoah Sanders. After her album Trane Steps – a tribute to John Coltrane, Claire Michael recorded her new album Mystical Way, released on May 6, 2022, through UVM Distribution, under the Blue Touch label.
